The ruling Tory Executive narrowly got their controversial budget passed by 22 votes to 20 votes.
Issues that came under fire from the Lib Dems included the increase in the Council Tax.
Group leader Cllr Elvie Lowe said:
"This will particularly hit the cost of living for Swale families.
"It comes at a time when huge sums are being diverted from front line services such as collection of bulk waste and cuts to Swale voluntary bodies such as the Citizens' Advice Bureau.
"We in the Lib Dems condemn the cuts to the voluntary sector and the slashing of funding to essential front line services that serve the public."
At Wednesday's Full Council meeting Elvie moved that funds be moved away from central costs such as administration costs to front line services.
Fellow Lib Dem Cllr Nick Williams said
"I think it is immoral that the Tories are withdrawing funding from such bodies as the Citizens Advice Bureau at the same time as it is propping up its own mis-running of the council and its budget. I am sure the voters of Swale will consider this when they come to cast their votes in the May elections."
