The Five Parishes Opposition Group today held a very successful march to present their petition against the proposed housing plans associated with the Kent Science Park expansion. Hundreds of members of the public joined the protest along Sittingbourne High Street to present the petition signed by over 3,000 people to the Leader of Swale Council Andrew Bowles.
The good weather contributed to the generally amiable atmosphere, but the size of the turnout was a good indicator of the strength of local opinion on this subject.

The organisers are to be congratulated on such a successful event. Their next move is to deliver a copy of the petition to 10 Downing St later this week, and raise the issue with Ministers and others.
Anyone who has not yet signed their petition can still do so on the Five Parishes website - www.fiveparishes.org.uk
